- An Interview with Mr. Chen Shuzhong, Deputy Director of EMCA

It should have been cold in Beijing in January, but it has remained sunny for days just like spring. The interview with Mr. Chen Shuzhong, Deputy Director of Energy Management Company Association (EMCA) began in such a “spring” afternoon. Perhaps it’s due to the good weather or Director Chen’s passion that the planned one-hour interview lasted for over two hours in the small but well-arranged conference room of EMCA.

As Director Chen has recently returned from an inspection in Taiwan, our interview began by talking about his acquirements. Upon the invitation of ESCO in Taiwan, Director Chen and his colleagues made a thorough inspection of local energy management system construction and visited Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute and China Iron and Steel Company. Generally speaking, energy management systems in Taiwan, especially energy auditing and inspection of energy conservation capacity, are more sophisticated than that of the mainland and worthy to be learned by us. The communication between Taiwan, Hong Kong and the mainland will be strengthened for greater development of energy management industry.
